I'd love "sexy", but I'd settle for "not having enormous tangles of
extra cable bunched and knotted up on the floor of the cabinet" :-)
Yeah -- tangled cable is a small bane against mankind. I try to
eliminate wherever possible. I'll take some pictures behind my rack
tonight and post them so you get an idea of how clean things can look.
Feast your eyes on this. I have this noise monster in my office at home.
(no, there isn't any pr0n there -- bear with the geek humour)
Front view of the rack, and the (highly underutilized) 48 port patch panel:

Side view, showing the nicely bundled to-length AC cables connected to
the IPDU and devices:

(mostly) rear view, shows the ethernet cables running along the patch
panel and down the rail channels, as well as the networking equipment
to-length ethernet cables:

The only cables I have that aren't cut to length are the async breakout
cables on the back of one of the 2600s in the picture. I can't bring
myself to chop a $75 cable -- besides, it may need to be longer in the
future.
For those who are interested, the equipment, top-down, is:
Cisco Aironet 1220 wireless access point (wall mounted)
Cyclades AlterPath PM10i Intelligent Power Distribution Unit
48-port Ortronics patch panel
Cisco 3550-24EMI layer 3 switch
Cable Management Panel
(open -- someone is borrowing my 3550-48SMI)
Cisco 2621 router
Cisco PIX 515E firewall
Cisco 2611 router
Cisco 2620 router
in the shelf, left to right:
Cisco VPN 3002 hardware VPN client
US Robotics Sportster 56k
This equipment is way overkill for home use, for the most part. I'm
working my way up to taking the CCNP and CCIE exams, and having the
equipment to hack on really helps. But I digress!
Anyhow, enjoy.
