At this point, LTSP is an overuse of resources. This is not a slight on the LTSP people, it's simply that technology advance has rendered their original starting assumptions invalid.

With people throwing away USB drives and compact flash and DVD readers so pathetically cheap, a LiveCD system is both more robust and more reliable than an LTSP system. It also doesn't require a hard drive.
