Amen to this thread. Man have I thought about making comments a
few times.....

     I helped write an internet protocol with the IETF, and work on
Speech Rec syntax with the W3C, both of which groups are notorious for
incredibly harsh, and cutthroat, yet nobody ever seemed to mind the
way people right like this, yet one message like this on this list,
and 10 people ripped me one.
    I agree with people who seem to be able to remember threads, and
have no desire to re-read everything every time ( and seem to
understand that whichever way someone does it, all the same
information is there ), and personally the only thing worse that
arguing that something subjective is objectively so, are people who
like to tell other people what to do. If someone was interested in
content, they'd read the message, and be done with it. If they are
interested in being one of those guys who likes to correct people all
the time, then I'd rather let them bother someone else with their
bitterness.
   Social conventions come about because they make sense, not because
stubborn people try to force them on everyone. Usually intelligent
people pragmatically realize that's a waste of time.
