Haven't seen such behavior, and very strange that it's limited to Mozilla-based apps... but you could try going to the 'nv' driver (the one from nVidia themselves) and then twiddling with the 'HWCursor' and 'SWCursor' settings in xorg.conf (see the nVidia readme for details). Probably addressing the symptom more than the cause, but worth a shot.
