The rewritable drive has a rewritable disc (with old files I don't care
about).
The command mounts the disc, but ro. I know I've done a rewrite before
on this type of disc, but I don't know why I can't get it now. Anyone
know what I should try?
This is a rewriteable CD? It doesn't use the same software interface
that you use for hard drives. It goes through ISO9660 layout with
something like K3B or other CD creation software.
Now that Carl mentions is, I seem to recall that I don't mount the drive
to write to it. Doesn't work. I don't do it often enough to remember, so
it's a re-learn every time.
Nice to have the confirmation. As far as frequency goes, I intend on
doing it at least one a month, cycling through at least three different
CDs (so that while I'm erasing & rewriting one, I still have at least
two others intact).
