As says the article.  But you need root priveliges for more than just
installing software.  If there's no sudo, how are you going to add a
user to the system or set system time?

As for myself, I shamelessly plop down in a root shell just as soon as
I turn my computer on.  I do lots of things that require root and I
like just doing them instead of sudoing.  I have an unstable computer,
by the way.  But it's only my home beast, nothing "mission critical".
