Is anyone else exploring this approach? Comments?
I like the idea of the virtual office but I don't like to depend on google and their servers for my applications. I would much prefer an open source web app that I can install on my own server and control myself along the lines of squirrelmail. Or just carry all of my apps around with me on a usb thumbdrive. I have read about setups using the Windows version of QEMU where people run Linux inside QEMU on a Windows box with all of their apps so they have their favorite apps and data with them anywhere. I also need to play with FreeNX and look at implementing an LTSP style setup so I can access my desktop from anywhere, perhaps using a FreeNX client running off of the above mentioned Linux running under QEMU on Windows.
Web apps for complicated things still don't impress me much. -- Tracy R Reed http://ultraviolet.org A: Because we read from top to bottom, left to right Q: Why should I start my reply below the quoted text -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
