Any youse guys using Xen? Anyone willing to compare it with VMWare?

Also, be careful when comparing Xen with vmWare. It should be comapres with vmWare ESX (which is $$$), not vmWare Server (which is free), for performance and feature/functions

That depends on the features you need.

I don't think so. If you compare Xen to vmWare server, you're not comparing apples to apples. vmWare server is "just another process" running on the host OS. ESX is very similar to Xen, in that *IT* virtualizes the HW to the guest OS's

So if you run benchmarks on a guest OS running on vmWare Server and they "suck", take into account that it's limited by the resources that the host OS gives vmWare server in the first place.

*Especially* if you compare them to Xen !
