I think this asequency is probably happening a lot more than I'm aware
of because usually I download a week's worth at a time. But even with
that, I notice this asequency something like every other time.
(I realize that "asequency" is probably not a word. But if
"asynchronous" can mean "not synchronous", then what the hey!)

Indeed, I had not. His comment lit a dark corner that I had forgotten.
Not only is there NO GUARANTEE that messages will be received in the
order sent, but furthermore, there's no certainty that any given message
will be received at all!
It turns out that delivery reliability is remarkably good. And sequence
is (usually) almost as dependable. I'm pretty happy with that <grin>.
