A simple question.

Is CVS considered "good enough" or do you advocate SVN, bitkeeper, TLA,
Merucruial or something else?

Short answer: If you are not cursing at CVS, you probably want to switch up to SVN, if you can.

While *you* may see little difference between the two, most new open source projects are using SVN or something else. SVN is, by far, the current "default" choice.

Therefore, it's best to learn it since it will be the dominant tool for quite a while. Even those projects that use something else normally provide a SVN view.
