Did you ever tell us what kind of laptop it is that needs fixing? In
case it's an IBM, a friend of mine found parts to fix his. He said IBM
still had pretty much every part available for his very old laptop,

    Best Regards,
       ~DJA.

My laptop is a very generic Chinese clone called an MSI 1012
http://www.msicomputer.com/NB/product_spec.asp?model=MS-1012
running Ubuntu.

I bought it from System 76 http://www.system76.com/
and like it a lot ... really my first laptop.

Here is a picture of Samsam, the cat that ate my keyboard.

I was hoping for a real closeup. Instead I had to settle for
cropping this picture from a larger image and dressing her eyes
a bit with Gimp ... the flash left them completely white. Samsam
is very wary of me today. Chuckle.

So it goes,

BobLQ
