What happens if you mix varieties?

The lower-power adapter might not be able to run the higher-power
computer and charge the battery simultaneously.  Look at the label,
one type says 16V 3A the other 16V 4.5A.

Assuming you don't have one of the really new Lenovo Thinkpads, which
use a totally different connector.  I guess you wouldn't have the "mix
varieties" question in that case.
