I guess we can assume the opensuse people will try to keep running in 
MS/Novell's slipstream to benefit from suse developement and safety in case 
MS starts wielding the patent hammer which imho they will inevitably do.

So maybe you're right, maybe not but I for my part won't take chances. 

PGA's issue is tricky tho since I don't know of anything else MS Exchange 
compatible. A business rival attractive enough to make companies consider 
switching would be great, but my hopes lay on Novell here, so...

(Evolution is open source, right? So in general it's documented what makes 
Exchange servers tick - and noone yet implemented compatibility in any other 
mail client, like KMail or so?)
