This post is an announcement of intent designed to open a MythTV thread on
which I will ask for LOTS of help.

First I want to thank Gus who made a case and the KnoppMyth DVD available
to me. Then I want to thank my wife for recognizing this as a valuable
project and encouraging me to devote valuable time to it. Then I want to
thank the MythTV developers, Linus Torvalds, my mother, my father, my
hairdresser ...

OK, here is where we are.

1.6666 mHz AMD CPU
500 MB RAM
~ 300 GB IDE disk space
IDE CD/DVD R/W
Gyration keyboard/mouse (http://perens.com/FreeSoftware/gyration.html)
NVidia TV output (actual card to be posted later when I struggle with it)
Hauppage 150
D-Link wireless

The core machine is assembled and KnoppMyth is installed and working. The
issues as I see them in the order of attack:

- get the wireless working

- get the Gyration working

- cable it up and see what I have

- start transferring family video tapes to DVD etc

Because the KnoppMyth distro is Debian based (yeah, jhriv, ya finally got
me), I'll need help as I venture away from the familiar shores of Red Hat.

Today's question: I have connectivity through Cat 5, so getting the D-Link
working is job 1. Last night it was complaining that it doesn't have/can't
find the wlan0 module.

I am so frackin' ignorant of modules and wireless that I might as well
have a red-tipped cane. I plan to poke around in /etc looking for
modprobe.conf and sysconfig/.

Is there some apt-get juju that would install all this automagically?

(Here is the real irony: When I get all done with this, TV will still be TV.)
