Title: Linux Admin 

Duration: Permanent (FTE)

Job Description: 
 
Our IT team is looking for a Linux Administrator to join our team. The
Linux Administrator will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing
problems and resolving systems issues with Linux and Unix-based systems.
He/she will perform troubleshooting for complex hardware, software and
network problems, along with being able to install, configure and
maintain Linux and Unix-based systems. He/She will also be responsible
for job automation and server administration. 
 
Job Responsibilities:

â.¢  Responsible for evaluating, diagnosing problems and resolving
systems issues with Linux and Unix-based systems.

â.¢  Perform troubleshooting for complex hardware, software and network
problems.

â.¢  Install, configure and maintain Linux and Unix-based systems.

â.¢  Produce in a high security environment and provide Tier 2 technical
support. 
 
Job Requirements:

â.¢  3 â.. 4 years of installation and configuration of Linux and
Solaris operating systems

â.¢  The ideal candidate should have experience with TCP/IP, routing,
DNS, HTTP services (such as Apache) and experience with
Weblogic/Webshere or similar Java application server implementation.

â.¢  Strong interpersonal and communication skills; capable of conveying
ideas and applying knowledge to challenging tasks.

â.¢  Must be able to work well in a fast paced, team oriented
environment.

â.¢  Technical Skills: UNIX, Linux, Solaris, Windows, Perl, NFS, JFS,
TCP/IP, DNS, SAN, MySQL, Nagios, Java.

â.¢  Must be able to outline and handle projects independently.

â.¢  A degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. Solid work
experience can be substituted. 
 
Preferred:

â.¢  Experience with Java application deployment, clustering and
application rollout/integration and familiarity with J2EE concepts a
plus.

â.¢  Cisco CCNA-level Network Engineer

â.¢  MCSE
