Yes but then why the @[EMAIL PROTECTED] does Lisp have this mystique about it?
Maybe it is because it is so old and has so much history.
The whole simple grammer thing with conses is very elegant too.


WHy did Java? Why does Smalltalk? Why do people go on about Python, or Ruby, or $LANGUAGE_OF_THE_WEEK? Personal preference and not much more.

The truth is that all these languages are NP complete. So you can do anything in any language. So just stick with what you know best, and look for a library to do what you need. Personally, I've even stopped using perl for scripts 90% of the time- C or C++ with a regex library is just so much easier, because I use them more than perl.
