I have the impression, backed by much ignorance, that it is easier to
write AI stuff in lisp than other languages, perhaps because so much
thinking consists of compiling mental lists for processing.

Prolog, which I have dabbled in, also makes AI easy, being rule based. We
all live by little rules, mostly left over from bad experiences, like
"never fart in an empty elevator."
