We can close this thread. This morning I got it to work with no further adjustments. OK, just the keyboard, but I'l get to the mouse.
I removed the competing keyboard (probably not a factor) and booted from cold. Then I pressed the connect button ON THE USB END before pressing the connect button on the keyboard, and (as they say in Paris MI) viola! So I type this in X on the new keyboard, but with the hard-wire mouse. I suspect the gyration mouse will work with some dinking to hwconfig and the X config. Or not ... but as Gus predicted, the Hauppauge remote is working fine, and is 99% of what a Myth box needs, anyway. Take home wisdom for the archives: 1. Gyration works with very little (forgive me) gyration. 2. On a myth box, the tuner's remote is really all you need. 3. But the Gyration is New and Shiny. -- Lan Barnes SCM Analyst Linux Guy Tcl/Tk Enthusiast Biodiesel Brewer -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
