No, what I mean is that the speaker understands perfectly. From his
perspective, there are *no* gaps. In his attempt to express what he has
in his mind, the expression comes out with gaps. The speaker notices
the glaring gaps because they're obvious. The subtle gaps get
overlooked because they're, ..., well, ..., subtle. But the speaker
understands perfectly what he *intends* to say, no gaps.
