I was perusing the Fedora Extras repositories for something and came
across a collection of great add-ons for yum. Some of them are:
[snip]
yum-fastestmirror Tests the download mirrors for fastest speed
instead of the first available
How does one get this add-on?
# yum install yum-fastestmirror
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Parsing package install arguments
No Match for argument: yum-fastestmirror
Nothing to do

What version of Fedora are you running? Do you have the Extra's
repository enabled (default for FC6, extra steps for FC5)?
FC4 :-[
Since this is just Python scripts you could probably grab the rpm from
FC5 and it would still work. If it doesn't, since it's an rpm you can
easily uninstall it.
Of course, you could fix it with an upgrade, but I would wait a few
months for Fedora 7.
