Yes. We just had a group of 8 ports on a 24 port Linksys POE switch die.
Apparently these things aren't intended for actual use. :) I am stress
testing another bank of 8 ports to see if it was just a fluke (probably
not) and when that one dies too I am going to order some real switches
such as HP Procurve.

Probably. I am learning that if it says D-Link, Netgear, or Linksys on
it you can't count on it for anything more than hobby applications and
you should not be shocked when it dies.
