Well here goes...
Output: 18.5v, 4.9A, 90w
Input:100-240v, 2.4A, 50-60Hz Center Positive
This is a common looking unit which has the rectangular box with a
detachable cord to go to the wall and a non-detachable cord that
connects to the laptop external power connector.
OK, now you could tell us the inner and outer diameter of the
connector that goes to the laptop. These connectors come in several
sizes. You might want to take the laptop to a RadioShack store where
they sell sets of assorted size power connectors, and try them on for
fit. Or you could specify the make and model of the laptop that this
is supposed to fit.
Is there another way of measuring? Would a simple ruler w/ metric do the
trick?
I don't remember from the beginning whether you have a non-working
power supply, in which case you can side-step the connector problem by
splicing the old connector onto the replacement supply.

I've been buried so be assured I appreciate the responses...
My brother found the following web sites (which I still need to get
to...) when he had to get a replacement for their laptop power supply
that was overheating. In addition one of our WRT54G routers died, or so
we thought at first. I swapped the power cord/wallwart unit from another
WRT54G and the router was not the problem, the power cord/wallwart unit
had died. So he had to buy these two items. I'm hoping I will be able to
get a power supply by searching these vendors of electronic parts.
My laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook C2210 and on the bottom it reads DC19V,
4.22A. I had the laptop repaired before by "The Portable Source" in San
Diego (that's not going to happen again...) and after the repair I ended
up with a unit that originally was for a Compaq (18.5V, 4.9A, 90W). It
has worked fine but the wear and tear of use has made the cord from the
laptop to power box side intermittent. I have a rubber band in place to
keep the cable in a position that it is not intermittent but that isn't
going to last .
Given some of the prices we found maybe I'll try ordering online but I
was asking about a local place that our resident CB's would recommend in
order to support any local Linux friendly vendors. I will check out CCC
(I had forgotten about them...). Here are the online vendors that my
brother purchased from:
$15.00 (plus S & H) AC adaptor for router
http://www.laptopsforless.com/
$14.99 (plus S & H) AC adaptor for kims laptop
http://www.sibusa.com
$41.99 (plus S & H) Battery for kims laptop
