Try splicing a new cord if that is the problem. Gateway electronics or there is 
a place in National City by Plaza blvd  that has a lot of electronic supplies I 
believe. I am not so sure about the internal connector perhaps you could try 
some liquid rubber to keep it from moving. You can buy liquid butylene rubber 
from a auto parts store I believe. There is also plastic tool dip available 
from is another possibility. I know L&N tools Poway carries it. Electronics is 
not my specialty so you should ask around.

My wife has a Fujitsu Lifebook that three times has had problems with 
the power supply cord. Once it was where the cord goes into the power 
supply (relatively easy to fix) and twice was the power connector in the 
laptop itself (much harder to fix).

Which end of the cord from power supply to laptop is intermittent?
