Neither works. Deleting and opening a new video source in mythsetup appeared to add channels and asked for a new scan and a run of mythfilldatabase, but the database when viewed in schedule recordings still has garbage in it. OK, plan B. But ls /usr/share/mythtv/database/mc.sql shows no file and various loacte&grep incantations can't find the sql script. This is MythDora, and maybe it thinks I don't need the script on the machine. I suppose I could search the iso on the DVD. Also in a separate development Cox (which, to their credit, seems to have become politer and more responsive over the telephone ... but also much more expensive) screwed up the channel expansion and has to come back out Monday morning to fix it. Hmm ... I should go to the TV's set up and make sure IT doesn't need to do a new scan. But that's unlikely to explain the Cox shortfall because both the TV and the capture card get the same (split) feed.
