No, it isn't.
Did they not even hint whether they thought it might have been their

No, they did not hint what the problem might be. Although a few other
people posted around the same time I did with the same problem. I
suspect their dhcp server happened to be down or misconfigured or
something when my lease expired and it tried to renew. But again, these
servers are designed for this sort of thing to happen at any time and it
is to be accepted. It is part of how they simplify their server
management and business model. In a way I like it because it forces you
to do backups which you should be doing anyway because you know you will
lose the machine eventually.
