this as well, but am so used to packages, I rarely compile anything
anymore.

I've got it to compile using a Fedora package, but there is some sort of bug in the RPM building process that affects the description of the package. That's not a show stopper but it is annoying. As soon as I figure that out, I'll post the spec file and a description on the KPLUG wiki with a link.

Mostly I start with the existing package and do a couple of small mods. Sounds simple but it has taken me several hours of messing around because RedHat applies some patches of their own that conflict with the HPN patches. I found I could drop the RedHat patches and apply the HPN patch and make it all work.
