Probably my bad...
I was probably thinking of the situation I
always have where I am using the switch part of
a router and bypassing the WAN connector to
pass-through/bridge, etc, etc
Given that this is a real, regular, plain switch
I'm thinking the same as you all that is to
check layer 1 and 2 for good/bad cable and
proper crossover/button crossover on uplink
connector...
