Thus, you occupy precisely the opposite position of the average computer
user who a) knows only Windows and is not really interested in learning
anything else, and b) regards the command line as somethning just to
the left of witchcraft, to be avoided whenever possible. I don't like that any
more than you do, but that's our market.

Apple seems to be doing a good job of making both groups happy.  There
isn't any particular reason that Linux couldn't as well.  It's just that
most of the Linux developers are in the same camp.  Having a partly working
GUI is frustrating.

It's not like the Windows GUI environment is really all that good.  It's
just what people are used to.  It's also where all of the software is.
