So what up? You never wanted something you could
switch to, to shut a windows user up...
I have a mac laptop. What more would I need to do that?
Sigh...
I want one of those too...
And a OLPC and an Eee PC...
I concede... you have the goods... BUT never the
less mine is running on my old platform ;^)
I like having an ace in the hole... twm or this
Compiz stuff...
I use Open Source... I have options to match
circumstances!
For day-to-day use, I use WindowMaker. Everyone in my lab as asked how
to switch to WindowMaker as well.
One thing that I didn't mention (that first post
was getting long anyway) is that someone gave me
an old laptop w/ a 1.3Ghz Celeron, 128MB of RAM,
10GB HD, broken CD, AFAICT broken Ethernet and a
barely working floppy drive. It literally was of
no use beyond the land fill for a WinDoze
user... I use Open Source so I have options...
So what did I do? I threw BL3 (Basic Linux v3)
at it and it now boots and runs... From the
Floppy and now the HD... With X no less! I was
just as excited about that as I was for this
Fedora 8 upgrade.
So after installing BL3 I think I'll take a
little license to be a tad bit excited with both
F8 and BL3 ;^)
The biggest problem I'm having is the whole flash-drive thing. Bringing
up an xterm to mount the device is sorta-kinda okay now that they don't
need to use sudo... (until they use two flash drives at once, or a new
flash drive.)
And remembering to umount is sometimes problematic as well.
Hmmm... you mean on your MAC?
