There is some question as to the lifespan of OLED displays. There is another 
technology called carbon nanotube display. Sony was working with a Taiwan 
company to incorporate some aspects of this into a OLED display. The real 
promise of OLED is that the display quality surpasses any that is available. 
Some people have reported that the display is so good that is hard to 
distinguish from a real object.

Sony had a prototype that had1,000,000:1 contrast ratio 27-inch OLED HDTV and 
1080p
