well, yes, here, but when you're going to remote locations with zero infrastructure, and taking a few dozen XOs and a satellite uplink, you're probably going to keep your shipping a little lower by throwing in a WAP instead of a hub/switch and a crapload of ethernet cables.
Wireless is far simpler to deploy, and there's no cables to trip over, cut, crimp, or yank out of sockets on the XOs.
Makes more sense to me than why the Wii in my living room has WiFi but no ethernet. :)
