(... Is the wireless switch on? ...) Searching for linux Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804 wireless -windows leads to http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?p=123934 which suggests the realtek is on the usb bus (!), so maybe you should run lsusb as well? I haven't looked carefully, but that forum discussion seemed to indicate some success, so it may be worth a look. I also seen a hint that the realtek module may have had some improvements in a recent kernel update (specifically 2.6.23 I think), so perhaps (if you haven't already done so), if you perform the update operation, the hardware will start being recognized properly. I thought that ubuntu would do updates on first reboot, but perhaps you chose not to allow them. To manually check, you would run sudo aptitude update Regards, ..jim -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
