R is definitely worth a look. You can find add-on packages for pretty much any type of analysis you wish, and reading the users list can serve as a mini masters degree in data analysis - some of the world's leading statisticians work on R and contribute to the list. There is a little bit of learning curve to R but the community is fantastic and there are heaps of free manuals/how-tos available. Many of the students in our graduate program use R to with much success. s. -- Sergio (Serge) Rey Professor and Chair Department of Geography San Diego State University http://geography.sdsu.edu/People/Faculty/rey.html -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
