KNSD NBC-7 was down in OB with us this morning interviewing my brother-in-law as he started his cross country, non-stop motorcycle ride (and when I say non-stop, I mean NON-STOP !)

How big of a gas tank is he using?

70 gallons

Sadly, the GPS hooked up to a laptop that he is carrying has stopped transmitting, but the backup is still working (so far)

GPSes don't trasmit, I thought.

I should say the laptop (via Verizon Wireless) has stopped broadcasting the GPS data

Hopefully the USB webcams are still working too (either the USB cable has come loose or the stupid Verizon Wireless UI is sitting there "Do you want me to reconnect ?")

And as it's nonstop, there are no scheduled maintenance windows?

Nope, it's a binary project, go/no-go

Should've said something, we could've slapped a tiny-tracker on there and used aprs. I've got a buddy riding his bike in a cross country race right now. He's between Durango and Pagosa springs, CO right now.
