I'm sure this thread will go on forever, but here's my contribution. I couldn't get a DVD to play on my new laptop with Slamd64 (64-bit Slackware, woo-hoo!) I don't reacall which of these it was missing, but I compiled new versions of all of these. If you're missing any of them you're dead in the water before you've even hit the lake: libdvdread libdvdnav libdvdcss Beyond that, if you can play an mpeg file you should be set. In extreme cases you might need to install an mpeg2 codec, but I would imagine it's been a decade since a Linux distro did not come with one ...? -Matt -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
