Sure. Not all tools fit all people. Some mutants with extra fingers
find emacs to be very useful. Others with a third arm like the
mouse-driven editors...

And people who like silly memorization use vi.

Actually, you really do need to learn to use vi if you are a sysadmin.

Especially the search and destroy functionality. Learning the vi stuff also helps for ed and sed.

Even as an emacs bigot, I know most of the basic vi stuff.
