Which require frequent reboots, unlike Linux (unless you update the
kernel, and then you only need to reboot if you want to run the new
kernel right then).

I totally agree with you. The first time I restarted the network
system on a Linux server I observed that I didn't have to reboot AND I
didn't have to reconnect ssh. I just sat there for a moment. In awe.

Actually, the best performing games don't. They use C.
Um, well, the best performing games probably aren't 99% of the gaming
industry. Most ads that I've looked at asked for C++. "99%" is
probably more of an expression, but then I don't think it's far off
either.
