(Reposted from KPLUG list)

Something I've been wanting to do for awhile, and it was recently discussed
on the list. I'm looking to startup a mostly online study group to go
through this classic MIT course. I'm willing to organize it on a separate
mailing list, or if it's OK with KPLUG, to use this one. I'm not sure if the
Linux Programmers' Study Group has their own list, or maybe KPLUG would be
willing to host a KPLUG-SICP list for organizational & archive purposes.
Just an idea. I'm also thinking of posting to the KPLUG wiki as we go along
working out the problem sets, and answers to other questions that may arise
during the course.

To get started, the online videos can be found here:
http://tinyurl.com/2z7x9p.* *These are older videos, but should be fine with
the current book. MIT has this course available online at
http://tinyurl.com/yr6wcf* *. The book is freely available at
http://tinyurl.com/2a8cj* *. I do have a PDF conversion of the online book
if anyone would like it.

My plans would be to get started mid January. I don't have any particular
schedule in mind, other than following the syllabus. We can make our own
schedule as we go. If you're interested, please let me know. The more the
merrier!

Have a safe New Year!
