Actually, if you download the videos via bittorrent and watch them full
screen on your local machine it isn't bad at all. Much better than
watching the little window of a flash app. In fact I am now seeding the
mpeg version all of the videos again using the official torrents from
this page:

It's rather fun to watch them use that old computer (anyone able to
identify it?) to run their basic little code examples. 40 column screen,
very slow to return the results of even (+ 1 1) and you can hear the fan
whirring when he is over nearby it.
The PDF conversion may be useful; from that I can make a hardcopy and
follow along with the discussios on the list. That might be amusing.
I printed out the PDF and have a hardcopy. Make sure you use a duplex
printer. It's rather large. I have it all 3 hole punched in a binder.
Wish it were cheaper to have stuff actually bound.
