You're missing the point of the LPSG list. It exists to eternally rehash old arguments by people who haven't done any original thinking in decades. I think Chuck made a mistake coming to the list for a critique of his programming language as seen in this thread. It started out with a few honest questions and then devolved into another religious war on whitespace vs brackets. With only a few exceptions, this list seems to attract intellectual vacuousness.
