I think Chuck made a mistake coming to the list for a critique of his
programming language as seen in this thread. It started out with a few
honest questions and then devolved into another religious war on
whitespace vs brackets. With only a few exceptions, this list seems to
attract intellectual vacuousness.
I believe that I have commented about Cobra before so resisted hammering
on it. However, it lacks two things I consider important in any new
programming language worth learning:
A) complete independence from Microsoft
B) an effective concurrency abstraction
A look at Scala would be much more useful for most people as it *does*
have those two characteristics.
Scala also has quite a few of Chuck's other raison d'etre reasons. I
don't believe it has them all, though.
