I maintain a file with account names and passwords. For security, I've
been using a password-protected Microsoft Excel file.

What if I want to move this over to a Unix-like system? A plain text
file is obviously unacceptable and I don't want to use a GUI app like
OpenOffice or such.

About a year ago (Jan 31 2007) on the main KPLUG list there was some
discussion of a similar topic, and the recommendation was:

I'm using that. I like it. But I'm using a GUI version. I have no idea if it is useful from the console.
