*I* know that. My point is to use the thing not only as an educational tool for myself but to educate others also. I can readily demonstrate how a relay works to someone with no knowledge of electronics. I can then demonstrate how a bunch of them together can do useful work. I can't do this with a transistor. That was my point. To be able to explain computers to the average joe who has no hope in the world of understanding a transistor.
