There may be an informal (and ad hoc) is ok, formal is way-harder
aspect, too.

I've also had debugging sessions where working with someone else helped.  I
think it is only a hinderance for anything that requires creative effort.

People don't like to admit this, but most program is exploratory.
Exploration is hindered when you have to justify your steps.  I suspect I
would spend most of my time saying something to the effect of: "Shut the
[EMAIL PROTECTED] up, I just want to try this and see what it does."
