When I put a floppy into the drive, a window pops up and says the disk is unformatted do you want to format now. I know the disk is fine.
I go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager and see that the floppy is working fine.
I've uninstalled the drive and its controller. Upon reboot, a "new device was detected" and installed. Then, when I try again to look at the file on the disk, I get the same "not formatted" message.
What can I do to fix this? I already bought a new Sony drive, so I don't think its the drive itself.
I don't have this problem with RH9 only with win2k. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Try changing your operating system.
Why are you asking Windows questions on a Linux mailing list?

Because this is the only place I can get honest/good/reliable help.
