Try copying the data from the floppy, reformatting under W2K, then copying the data back. Use RH9 to copy data if necessary.

W2K and XP will complain if there's no serial number on the diskette, so one formatted way back will cause this to occur.

When I put a floppy into the drive, a window pops up and says the disk is unformatted do you want to format now. I know the disk is fine.

I go to control panel/system/hardware/device manager and see that the floppy is working fine.

I've uninstalled the drive and its controller. Upon reboot, a "new device was detected" and installed. Then, when I try again to look at the file on the disk, I get the same "not formatted" message.

What can I do to fix this? I already bought a new Sony drive, so I don't think its the drive itself.

I don't have this problem with RH9 only with win2k. Any help is greatly appreciated.
