Yes.  There are three packaging systems with Fedora.  Red Hat developed
up2date.  There is the Debian-style apt-get system.  The one I like is YUM. 
Here's some info (http://www.fedorafaq.org/#yum) for setting up alternate
repositories since the Red Hat servers are often slow for the free users.

I note that older versions of Fedora do not have regular updates so stick with
a recent version (ie FC4).
