Sorry for the newbie question but which version of Linux does Linus
Torvolds work on? Is it Debian?
All of them. Linus works on the Linux kernel (think of it as the main part
of the OS- the part that actually controls the hardware). That kernel is
used by all the different distributions. So no matter which one you use,
you're getting the one he works on, with perhaps a few additions by the
distributor.
If you want to know which version he uses on his desktop- I think its
Debian, but I'm not sure.
