It sounds like you have done this more than once. Have you ever run into
a case where adding one of these options introduces a problem? That fear
would keep me from your add-all and pare-down strategy, but if you have
had success, I guess I might consider it, despite my (unfounded?) fear.

You mean maybe: no matter what.. on some particular hardware?
