I'm using ESX 2.54

I know that ESX comes from VMWare. Maybe you should not have assumed
that everyone knows that. Could be useful to have some more
information about the installed operating system.

Do you mean that the drive is attached to your network, and has a
built-in web server as its interface? How about some more
information.
I attached the drive to the EWSX Computer and used the ESX WEB GUI to format
and add to VMWARE

What command are you using to "add files"? Tell us what you did to
make the new file system known to the computer.
Using ESX WEB GUI -> Manage Files then tried to copy an Existing File to
this FIle SYSTEM

> How can I change.

Well, first off learn to ask questions that do not assume that the
person answering the question is looking over your shoulder and knows
everything that you have done.

To all, I do appreciate your assistance. This one has got us stumped
and two of us are trying to convey the best we know how to.
I'm as rusty as they come in Linux lately, I best get back to National City
for the monthly Install fests and get reacquainted.

I Appreciate all information and assitance.

There is a fairly good likelihood of getting linux and (and sometimes
larger-scope) answers here, if you could elaborate a bit more on what
you are asking, but perhaps that is a symptom that this is not the
_best_ place to ask, maybe because not too many here are experienced
specialists in VmWare ESX.

Have you looked around other places, such as
  http://communities.vmware.com/index.jspa

Maybe you could search there (or google?) for a forum more attuned to
your questions?

But don't hesitate re-asking your question here, with a little more
context information, if you wish.

Regards,
.jim (we like questions, especially the interesting ones)
